Nvidia presentation about new mainstream GPUs now completely deleted from the Hot Chips program

At the beginning of this month we will be reporting on a presentation about the next generation of mainstream GPUs that Nvidia would give on Hot Chips. At the main chip conference of the year, Stuart Oberman, Vice President of Nvidia's GPU ASIC Engineering team, will give a presentation on Nvidia's Next Generation Mainstream GPU.

A few days later the time slot in which this presentation should take place has already been noted as to be determined and now it has been completely removed from the program. In all likelihood we will not see a presentation about Nvidia's new GPUs on August 20, but the introduction will be postponed.

NVIDIA only gave 2 days to journalists to sign new NDA. The document describes how confidential information should be used by journalists and other parties...

...NVIDIA’s new NDA basically says that any confidential information provided to the party must be used ‘solely for the benefit of NVIDIA‘. This could be understood in many ways, but for a journalist sharing confidential information does not always mean reporting in favor of the new product, sometimes it is the opposite. So does criticism brake new NDA? Heise.de is worried this could prevent journalists from writing whatever they want.

Furthermore, new NDA also imposes 5-year expiration on confidential information. Journalists from Heise are concerned this could keep their mouth shut for 5 years should they decide to sign it.
